Our breastfeeding program is designed to help you with any breastfeeding concern or need you may have, before you deliver, while you're in the hospital and after you're home.
Before your baby is born
Breastfeeding benefits baby and mom! We're here to help you prepare with our Preparation for Breastfeeding class taught by lactation consultants.
When you are in the hospital
In addition to highly trained nurses available throughout your hospital stay, lactation consultants are available for assistance and support.
After you go home
- Private consultations with our certified breastfeeding consultants.
- Telephone counseling with our consultants
- Breastfeeding support group—informal, comfortable group discussion with a lactation consultant leader and other moms and their babies.
- Electric breast pump rental—rent one of our efficient, affordable pumps.
- Retail sales of breastfeeding equipment, pumps and accessories—hard-to-find equipment, books and videos, stools, pillows, nipple shields, lanolin and more.
- Nursing bra fittings and sales—private, personal help to find the kind of bra that's just right for you. We recommend fittings at 37 weeks or more to receive the best result. Call (614) 566-3434 to set up an appointment for a bra fitting.
- Free baby weigh station.
If you need support
The Mothers' Milk Bank of Ohio collects, pasteurizes and distributes human milk for premature infants, babies and toddlers who are failing to thrive and whose mothers are not able to provide their own milk.
