Morning sickness is a common side effect that most women experience during pregnancy. It can occur at any time of day without warning. In most cases, morning sickness will subside by the end of the first trimester. In the mean time, here are some helpful tips for you to try.

  • Eat small portions throughout the day. You can reduce nausea by keeping something in your stomach. Try eating crackers, peanut butter, applesauce, Asian pears or citrus fruit.
  • Spend less time on your personal computer. The rapid flickering of the computer display has been tied to morning sickness.
  • Get plenty of rest. Morning sickness will be worse if you are stressed and sleep deprived.
  • Stay active. Exercise will help you feel better, especially in the early stages of pregnancy.
  • Wear comfortable and non-restrictive clothing. Clothes that are tight around the waist can make you feel nauseous.
  • To calm a queasy stomach, drink some apple cider vinegar in water (add honey if you would like).
